BID Ballot Timetable Explained

27th August - A notice of ballot is sent to all voting businesses 2 weeks before the ballot opens, saying the ballot is coming up and provides some outline details of the proposal (legal stuff really).

10th September - Despatch of the ballot papers and the 28 day postal voting period opens. Hopefully all the eligible voting businesses receive ballot papers, all depends if the BID proposers have given an accurate list of voters to the council. Note BID ballot papers are often sent out looking like junk mail to "the owner / occupier", so be sure to check your post around this time.

8th October - The 28 day postal ballot period ends, important to post your ballot cards back sooner rather than later so it doesn't 'arrive too late for counting'.

9th October - Knaresborough businesses find out if they are going to have to pay the BID tax for the next 5 years, or not (as many are hoping).
